Cookie Box And Christmas Cookie Gift Boxes

Christmas cookie gift boxes are fun to put together and fun to gift this time of the year. Or have a cookie party with all the Christmas Cookie Gift Boxes have friends over, and let them assemble their own cookies boxes, and decorate them. The queen of baking Martha Stewart started the trend of putting together cute cookie boxes in her magazine Martha Living. I love her magazine because it has some of the best DIY ideas, especially during the holiday season! She has the cutest ideas for DIY decoration tips for presents or for your home during the holidays! I love to collect them! I found an issue at my home from 2009

Its Seriously Beautiful.

I was also inspired by the christmas cookie gift boxes created by Erin from Cloudy Kitchen, and Fanny from Oh Sweet Day last year. This year, Erin graced the covers of the BakeFeed magazine as well, and the cover is absolutely stunning! Her cookie box turned out beautiful!

I did not plan/organize it well enough last year, so I had decided that in 2018, I would plan ahead of time, and work towards a cookie box with all the wonderful inspiration out there. Cookies can be planned ahead because the dough can be frozen, buttercreams can be made ahead of time, royal icing can be made ahead of time and stored for upto a week. It is all about planning it well and staying organized. I am a weekly customer to Michael’s thanks to my kids, especially my daughter who wants to buy the whole store!! So do I secretly lol. We love the store, and love to browse around, and I know every aisle, nook and corner of the store. They have some of the cutest wooden boxes as well as the aluminum boxes that work great for cookies.

The Wooden Boxes Have Covers Too, For Transportation.

They have different sizes as well, in case you want to prepare a smaller one with a variety of 3-4 cookies for instance. I created dividers for the cookies in the box with card stock paper. I cut it into different sizes, and made an L shape, and glued it to a card stock paper at the bottom of the box. You could also use cupcake liners or loaf pan paper liners as dividers too. My kids actually created small cardboard boxes for their teachers, with a few cookies inside, using a small cardboard box and cupcake liners, again from Michaels. It was very cute to see them make their own cookie boxes, decorate them with ribbons, and a tag, and snowflake decorations. Their teachers were very appreciative and they loved their early presents! I made cookie boxes for a few friends by placing the cookies in a pretty fashion in a paper loaf pan, put the paper loaf pan in a plastic gift bag(long rectangular bags, found at World Market), and tied a pretty ribbon with a bell around it, along with a tag.

Sugar Cookies Are A Must As They Hold Up And Transport Well.

I love to include varieties of eggnog based cookie, gingerbread cookie, fruitcake, bars, confections like bark/meringues/nougat/fudge, peppermint cookie, chocolate cookie, cookies from other parts of the world likelinzers/rugelach/madeleines/macarons/biscotti – this creates a good mix. Buttercream icing based cookies are not shippable though, but they can be put in a box that will be delivered locally. If you have been following my 12 days of christmas cookie gift boxes you can seethe variety that I included as part of the this series! I put little tiny ornaments or tiny glitter pine cones in the cookie box to make it look festive. To list out some of my favorite stores from where I get the ribbons, tags, glitter, decorations, embellishments etc.

Michaels – tiny ornaments, bells, jute ribbons, glitter pine cones, tiny xmas trees that work great for cookie boxes or gifts in general Target – dollar section has some of the cutest stuff that I have found, and great finds. They even have xmas cards that are really adorable.

Hope these tips help you to create your own cookie box, and have fun with it! They are fun to make, get your kids involved, and they will have fun with it too!
